What we collect and what we do with it.
Updated May 20, 2026.
The short version
The planner asks eleven qualitative questions about your family's situation. We use those answers to generate a personalized plan and to help our sales director, Erica Lathrop, understand how to be most useful when you reach out. We don’t sell or share your information with anyone outside The Cordwainer’s team.
If you’d like us to delete what we have on file, email elathrop@cordwainermemorycare.com and we’ll do it.
What we ask you for
The eleven questions cover who the planning is for, when memory care might be needed, your loved one’s current living situation, military service, long-term care insurance, home equity, income sources, savings runway, family financial contributions, other resources like life insurance or trusts, and what you’re most concerned about.
We never ask for dollar amounts. Every question is qualitative — your best sense of the situation is what we use.
At the end, we ask for your email and (optionally) a first name, so we can send you the personalized plan as a PDF. The consent checkbox below the button controls whether Erica follows up.
What we collect automatically
One HTTP-only session cookie (cordwainer_session) so the planner remembers your progress if you refresh or come back later. It expires after 30 days. It contains a random ID and nothing else.
We log standard request information — your browser’s user agent string and the referring URL — so we can troubleshoot problems and understand how families find the planner. We do not track you across other websites.
Who sees your information
Inside The Cordwainer: Erica and the sales team see the email notification with your answers and the resulting tier. If you opted in to follow-up, that may include a phone call or a personalized email from Erica.
Outside The Cordwainer: nobody, except the service providers we use to operate the planner. Those are:
- Supabase — secure database hosting for your responses and lead record.
- Resend — delivers the plan email to you.
- Vercel — hosts the planner website.
Each provider has its own privacy practices that meet standard data-handling expectations. None of them uses your information for advertising or resale.
The PDF link
The email contains a private link to your plan. The link is unguessable (64 random characters) and expires after 30 days. If you forward the email to a family member, the link works for them too. If you’d like a fresh link after the 30 days are up, complete the planner again or email Erica.
How long we keep your information
Your responses and email stay in our database indefinitely unless you ask us to delete them. Keeping the record means Erica can resume a conversation months later without asking you to start over.
Email elathrop@cordwainermemorycare.com with the subject line “Delete my planner record” and we’ll remove everything we have on you within five business days.
Children
The planner is intended for adults making care decisions for themselves or another adult. We don’t knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.
Changes to this notice
If we change how we use information in a meaningful way, we update this page and the “Updated” date at the top. For families who’ve already submitted, we’ll email you about material changes before they take effect.
Questions
Email Erica at elathrop@cordwainermemorycare.com or call 781-871-5550. We answer privacy questions the same way we answer any other question about The Cordwainer — directly, from a real person.
